Abstract:
A method of efficiently removing bubbles remaining on the surface of a molten glass, which eliminates the problem that, in producing glass substrates, bubbles remaining on the surface of a molten glass come into inner parts during formation to become internal bubbles, can provide a glass substrate of satisfactory quality, and can improve the productivity of the glass substrate. Also provided are: an apparatus for removing bubbles; and a process for producing a glass which employs the bubble removal method. The method, which is for removing bubbles floating on the surface of a molten glass, comprises irradiating floating bubbles present on the molten glass surface with at least one laser light beam at a given angle.
