Abstract:

A method for removing an ion to be removed being present in a solution by the crystallization method, characterized in that a solution to be treated and an ion capable of forming a slightly soluble salt through the reaction with the ion to be removed are fed to each of multi−step crystallization vessels to grow crystal particles of a slightly soluble salt of the ion to be removed, and simultaneously, crystal particles having been grown in a previous crystallization vessel are successively fed to a latter crystallization vessel, so that a latter crystallization vessel has crystal particles having a greater average particle diameter flowing therein&semi and an apparatus for practicing the method. The method can be employed for removing an ion present in a solution stably with good efficiency.
