Abstract:
Provided are a method and apparatus for sending notification information. The method comprises: monitoring an interface failure situation of nodes in a multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) network; and when an interface of a designated node in the MPLS network fails, sending notification information used for indicating that the interface has failed to other nodes according to a topological relationship of the designated node in the MPLS network, the other nodes being nodes other than the designated node among nodes affiliated to the topological relationship. By means of the technical solution in the present invention, the problems in the related art that a great number of redundant messages exist and network resources are wasted due to the fact that all routing nodes in the whole network need to be notified when an interface fails are solved, achieving the effect of not needing to perform message response on all nodes in the network, and further achieving the effect of not wasting the network resources.
