Abstract:
A method and apparatus for sharing media content. An external server and a household internal terminal device are connected via a gateway to receive media resources on the server, a remote program source address in the media resources is mapped to a local URI in a local area network, own media resource information of a DMS is formed, and then the media resource information is issued into a DLNA household network in a DLNA standard form. It is only necessary for a DMP on a terminal to access the DMS in a gateway, and media contents needing to be played are requested therefrom according to the issued media resource information. After having received a request, the gateway acquires the media content from the server according to the remote program source address corresponding to the media, and then returns the media content to the terminal.
