Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for supporting foreign language reading comprehension. The method for supporting foreign language reading comprehension according to an embodiment comprises the steps of: identifying the current level of a user among multiple levels representing proficiencies in a foreign language in relation to execution of an electronic document written in the foreign language; searching the electronic document for words included in a first exception word list that the user does not know; searching the electronic document for words obtained by excluding words included in a second exception word list that the user knows among words included in a higher level than the current level; and displaying a foreign language reading-comprehension support screen including a body of the electronic document and additional information of the words obtained by the search, wherein the additional information of the words obtained by the search is attached to the body of the electronic document.
