Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate than a 4G communication system such as LTE. A method performed by a UE in a wireless communication system, according to various embodiments of the present disclosure, may comprise the steps of: receiving an RRC message including configuration information regarding at least one target cell from a serving cell of a base station; on the basis of the RRC message, identifying one or more candidate target cells for which a pre-random access channel (RACH) has been configured; performing uplink synchronization for the one or more candidate target cells; measuring channel states for the one or more candidate target cells; and on the basis of the measured channel states, receiving a handover indication from the serving cell of the base station.
