Abstract:
A method, apparatus and system for realizing transmitting Ethernet signal in the optical transport network are provided. The method includes: mapping the Ethernet signal into the slots of the virtual cascade group which is made up of several optical payload units, mapping the Ethernet signal into the optical payload units, and mapping them into optical transport units which are then output to the optical transport network for transmission. The method realizes transparent transmission in the optical transport network for the Ethernet signal. The apparatus includes the first adaptive protocol mapping module, the first virtual cascade module and the first line terminal module, which convert the Ethernet signal into optical transport units. The apparatus can include the second line terminal module, the second virtual cascade module and the second adaptive protocol mapping module, which restore the Ethernet signal from the optical transport units. The system includes the first and the second adaptive protocol mapping modules, the first and the second virtual cascade modules and the first and the second line terminal modules, which realize the interconversion of the Ethernet signal and the optical transport unit.
