The present disclosure relates to a method of performing operations for a medium access control (MAC) entity of a User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system. In particular, the method includes receiving a MAC service data unit (SDU) related to a logical channel (LCH) having a plurality of logical channel identifier (LCID) values, from an upper layer, generating a MAC protocol data unit (PDU) including a MAC subPDU; and submitting the MAC PDU to a lower layer, wherein the MAC subPDU includes the MAC SDU and a MAC subheader for the MAC SDU; wherein the MAC subheader includes a LCID field of the LCH, the LCID field being set based on a size of the MAC SDU among the plurality of LCID values.
