Title:
METHOD FOR APPLYING TUNGSTEN CARBIDE ALLOY TO SCREW CONVEYOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/075513
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Screw conveyors are used in various fields of industrial machinery. Here, wear occurs at the tip of a screw when a workpiece is subjected to high pressure or extreme centrifugal force. In that case, the gap between the screw and an outer wall widens, thus reducing yield and preventing normal operation. The present invention relates to a method for applying a tungsten carbide alloy to the tip portion of a screw conveyor. The tungsten carbide alloy is a material manufactured by a sintering method and has high hardness (Hra 84~94) and superior strength compared to other hard materials. Existing application methods include brazing, bolt assembly, thermal spraying, etc., but such methods have problems such as cracking, shaking, low hardness, etc., and thus are difficult to use. Brazing, which is a traditional method, involves heating silver lead (Ag-Cu) to 600-800 degrees and bonding same to a plate-shaped tungsten carbide alloy and an adapter (steel metal). However, as the plate-shaped tungsten carbide alloy is cooled, cracks form in the tungsten carbide alloy due to the difference in thermal expansion coefficient between the tungsten carbide alloy and the steel metal. The present invention solves such problems by triangle-mechanically assembling the tungsten carbide alloy. The method does not involve the application of heat to the tungsten carbide alloy, and since the tungsten carbide alloy is mechanically assembled, cracks do not form even when bending stress occurs. The triangle designed for the tungsten carbide alloy is assembled in the same shape on an adapter to resolve the problem of shaking or falling out.
