Abstract:
Provided is a method that asymmetrically synthesizes a chiral carboxylic acid, through an enzymatic hydrolysis reaction mediated by at least one acylCoA esterase selected from the group consisting of ACOT7 and ACOT13, from the racemate of a thioester compound having an asymmetric carbon at the α-position and represented by general formula (I). [In the formula, R1, R2, R3, and R4 represent hydrogen or a substituent. R2 and R3 may form a substituted or unsubstituted cyclic structure together with the carbon atom to which they are bonded. However, R1, R2, R3, and CO-S-R4 are different from each other.]
