Abstract:
It is intended to provide a method of efficiently producing a gas to be used in synthesizing a liquid fuel such as methanol through the gasification of a herbaceous or wood biomass material. Namely, a method of producing a gas for producing a liquid fuel such as methanol through the gasification of biomass characterized by involving the step of bringing a biomass−containing organic material into contact, in a fluidized state, with a gasification accelerator comprising a clay having a catalytic function and&sol or a heating medium function under heating in a gasifying reaction zone in the presence of a gasifying agent to thereby convert the above−described organic material into a gas useful in producing a liquid fuel.
