Title:
METHOD OF CONTROLLABLY COOLING HOT-ROLLED WIRE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/024073
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A method of controllably cooling hot-rolled wire materials capable of manufacturing the various types of high quality wire materials by controllable coolings ranging from gentle cooling to rapid cooling by gentle cooling in the form of geometrically loose coils by a single apparatus. A red-heated wire material immediately after finish rolling is formed in a vertical spiral ring by a laying type winder, fallen on an eccentric horizontal rotary stacker waiting for just below the winder to from an eccentrically stacked ring row by hot rolling, and formed in the geometrically loose coil of a specified shape. At the same time, the stacker is lowered and rotatingly immersed in a molten salt refrigerant to isothermally transform the wire material through its overall length by generally uniformly cooling it strongly. The first requirement for the uniform strong cooling is the molten salt, the second requirement is the geometrically loose coil, and the third requirement is refrigerant circulation systems inside and outside a cooling tank, and necessary and sufficient requirements for processing are specified. Various types of isothermal transformation heat treatments are performed according to refrigerant temperatures.
