Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for controlling an automatic transmission. According to said method, a starting and/or shifting clutch and/or transmission elements used for selecting, engaging, and disengaging the gears is/are actuated by means of actuators in accordance with the respectively provided variables that represent the driving situation and the performance desired by the driver, said actuators being triggered by a control and regulation mechanism. In order to obtain a gear changing process that is optimal for the respective type of vehicle and the respective driving situation, said method comprises the following steps: input variables which influence the shifting process are detected; said input variables are standardized so as to obtain standard input variables; the standard input variables are weighted by means of weighting factors; the standard weighted input variables are summed up; the standard weighted input variables are summed up and/or multiplied so as to obtain an intermediate variable; the intermediate variable is classified into one of several predetermined value ranges, each of which represents one type of shifting scenarios; the shifting process is carried out by actuating the actuators with the aid of the actuator control parameters and/or regulation algorithms associated with the determined type of shifting scenario. According to an alternative embodiment of the inventive method, the intermediate variable can be used as a modifying factor which is combined with actuator control parameters and/or regulation algorithms to trigger at least one of the actuators.
