Abstract:
Provided are a method for controlling an autonomously traveling work vehicle and an autonomous travel system with which it is possible to detect a marker part and autonomously travel, and to continue autonomous traveling even when detection of the marker part fails. The autonomous travel system comprises a marker unit and a control device. The marker unit is attached to a prescribed vehicle, comprises the marker part that is detected from outside, and sends out first position information indicating the position of the marker unit. The control device is attached to a prescribed work vehicle, and, on the basis of detection information indicating detection of the marker part, the first position information, and second position information indicating the position of the work vehicle, controls autonomous traveling of the work vehicle that involves following the vehicle. The control device accepts an operation for starting autonomous traveling under the condition that the detection information has been acquired, the first position information has been acquired, and the second position information has been acquired.
