Abstract:
Embodiments of the present application disclose a method of controlling a display device, and a portable device relating to the field of computers and large-screen devices, which are capable of providing users with a display device control method that employs a portable device and is convenient and easy to implement. Specifically, the method comprises: the portable device determining, according to spatial orientation information of the portable device worn or held by a user, a straight line parallel to the axis of the portable device, and then determining a first location of the straight line parallel to the axis of the portable device on a display screen of a display device, such that the display device can display a first icon at the first location. The straight line parallel to the axis of the portable device can be understood as an extension line of a finger when the user is maintaining said spatial orientation, and the first location can be understood as a location on the display screen of the display device that the finger points to when the user is maintaining the spatial orientation. The method is convenient and easy to implement for users.
