A method for controlling the flying start of a frequency converter, comprising the steps of: sampling a line voltage of a frequency converter, and processing same into a positive voltage and then outputting same to a digital signal processor (110); then, shaping the positive voltage using a software hysteresis method to obtain a square wave voltage signal (120); and calculating the frequency of the square wave voltage signal, and controlling a starting manner of the frequency converter according to the frequency of the square wave voltage signal. When the frequency of the square wave voltage signal is greater than or equal to 1 Hz, the frequency converter is in a rotating state. Thus, the frequency converter is controlled to start at the current frequency, thereby preventing the frequency converter from rotating in reverse and preventing damage to the frequency converter and a load due to the fact that the frequency of the frequency converter is inconsistent with the current rotation frequency. The calculation method for the method for controlling the flying start of a frequency converter is simple, convenient, and quick.
