Title:
METHOD OF CONTROLLING AN INJECTION MOTOR HAVING OVERHEAT PREVENTING FUNCTION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1988/000123
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A method of controlling an injection motor in an injection molding machine having an overheat preventing function to reliably set the injection molding conditions in which the injection motor will not be overheated. When the injection molding conditions are newly set (S1 to S3), calculation (S5) is carried out to find a ratio (R) of an integrated value of the amount of heat generated by an injection motor current during one injection molding cycle to the allowable integrated value of the amount of heat generated by a continuous rated current, prior to executing one injection molding cycle in accordance with the set conditions. Then, the ratio (R) is compared with an allowable ratio (Rmax) to determine (S6) in advance whether the injection motor is overheated or not when the injection molding cycle is executed in accordance with the set conditions. When the injection motor is overheated, an alarm is generated (S7).
