Provided is a method for controlling the operating process of a charging pile: matching an incoming vehicle ID number with a reserved ID number, successful matching meaning that the identity of the car owner has been verified; the charging pile then automatically controls an electric control retractable apparatus to drive a charging gun to descend and wait for the car owner to arrive in front of the charging pile; the charging gun has already been lowered into place, so the car owner does not need to wait, saving time and being user-friendly; in addition, after the identity of the car owner is determined, the charging account number of the owner is then also determined, enabling a consumption device in the vicinity of the charging pile to associate with the determined charging account and, after the car owner produces a consumption fee on the consumption device, the consumption fee is automatically settled on the charging account; by using the charging account currently implementing a charging operation to conveniently pay a consumption device in the vicinity of the charging pile, the payment method is relatively simple.
