Abstract:
A method for controlling a power supply for amplifying an RF signal comprises: determining whether or not a power supply mode, for supplying power to an amplifier for amplifying the RF signal from a power modulator of a communication device, is an envelope tracking (ET) mode which is a mode for supplying the power on the basis of envelope tracking of the RF signal; determining whether or not a downlink block error rate and a downlink modulation method in the ET mode satisfy a first condition, if the power supply mode is an ET mode; determining whether or not a full resource block (RB) of an uplink band is allocated to uplink data transmission, if it has been determined that the first condition is satisfied; and switching the power supply mode to an average power tracking (APT) mode which is a mode for supplying the power on the basis of the average power of the RF signal, if it has been determined that the full resource block (RB) of the uplink band is allocated.
