The invention relates to a method of correcting data between a first periodic process, called producer process (A), and a second periodic process, called consumer process (B), which are incorporated into an automated system (1) without a common clock, the consumer process (B) using at least one data item supplied by the producer process (A) in order to generate at least one status information of the system (1), and the period (TA) of the producer process (A) being greater than the period (TB) of the consumer process (B). The method is characterized in that at least two successive data items (D) output by the producer process (A) are used to generate, by extrapolation over at least one extrapolation horizon, a corrected data item (Dcor) which is used by the consumer process (B) instead of the data item most recently received from the producer process (A). The invention also relates to an automated system carrying out the above process.
