Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for decomposing a phenolic by-product and, more specifically, to a method for decomposing a phenolic by-product comprising the steps of: (S10) mixing a mixed by-product stream of a bisphenol-A by-product produced from a bisphenol-A preparation process and a phenolic by-product produced from a phenol preparation process, a decomposition device side discharge stream and a process water stream by feeding same into a mixing device; (S20) phase-separating a mixing device discharge stream discharged from the mixing device into oil phase and aqueous phase by feeding same into a phase separation device; (S30) decomposing an oil phase stream phase-separated and discharged in step (S20) by feeding same into a decomposition device; and (S40) circulating a decomposition device side discharge stream produced from the decomposition in step (S30) to the mixing device in step (S10).
