Title:
METHOD FOR DECOMPOSING PROTEIN-CONTAINING CELLULOSE-BASED FIBER MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/136335
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a method for decomposing a protein-containing cellulose-based fiber material such as barley refuses. A protein-containing cellulose-based fiber material is decomposed with a microorganism belonging to the genus Paenibacillus. It becomes possible to decompose a protein-containing cellulose-based fiber material only by the microorganism, and it also becomes possible to decompose the protein and the cellulose-based fiber material in a single stage. Furthermore, because the treatment is performed with the microorganism under an anaerobic condition, the fermentation of an organic substance contained in the protein-containing cellulose-based fiber material rarely occurs and therefore the amount of discharged carbon dioxide is reduced.
