Abstract:
A machining limit area designation method using a numerical controller for easily executing machining of an arbitrary shape by manual feed and a manual feed machining method are described. To designate a machining limit area in an X-Y plane, an arbitrary shape is determined by shape data or the combination of several shape data inside an X-Y plane of predetermined Z coordinates, and the arbitrary shape determined by the shape data is designated as a machining limit area in which a tool can move inside the X-Y plane by manual machining of a numerical controller. The machining limit area in the Z axial direction is designated on the basis of an inverse function, by determining this inverse function having an X coordinate value or a Y coordinate value as a parameter from a function which designates the machining limit area in the X-Y plane by using the Z coordinate value as a parameter.
