Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for detecting defects of a glass ribbon conveying roll in a glass plate conveying line provided with a plurality of conveying rolls that convey a glass ribbon, wherein out of the plurality of conveying rolls some are divided into a plurality of conveying roll groups in prescribed areas, compositions of the material of at least a surface area of the conveying roll that come in contact with the glass ribbon are made to be different for each divided conveying roll group, and when a defect is generated, due to a deposit, on a surface of the glass ribbon that contacts the conveying roll, the composition of the deposit attached to the glass ribbon is analyzed, and by comparing the result of the analysis and the composition of each conveying roll group, the defective conveying roll group which caused the defect is detected.
