Abstract:
Disclosed are an electronic device and method. The electronic device comprises: a battery; a wireless power transfer (WPT) coil; a wireless power transmission/reception circuit; a charging circuit; and a processor electrically connected to the wireless power transmission/reception circuit and the charging circuit. The processor implements a method comprising the operations of: receiving first detecting power from an external electronic device through the wireless power transmission/reception circuit; when the wireless power transmission/reception circuit operates in a reception mode, determining, through the processor, whether received voltage generated by the first received detecting power exceeds predetermined voltage; supplying power from the battery to the wireless power transmission/reception circuit through the charging circuit on the basis of the received voltage exceeding the predetermined voltage value; outputting foreign object detecting power through the WPT coil on the basis of the supplied power; and confirming the occurrence of an error on the basis of the detection of an electrical change caused by the foreign object detecting power due to the existence of a foreign object.
