Abstract:
The detection level decreases as storage time lengthens after collection of a biological sample containing microRNA. In addition, a relatively long time is required to dissolve a hydrochloride of a neutral amino acid, which is crystalline, in water. A hydrochloride of a neutral amino acid is an acidic substance and irritating to the skin and mucous membranes and therefore requires care in handling in terms of safety. The present invention is a method for detecting microRNA in a biological sample, characterized by including a step for mixing an acid with a biological sample, a step for storage for a predetermined length of time, a step for recovering the microRNA in the biological sample, and a detection step. The present invention also provides a homogenous semisolid composition comprising a hydrochloride of a neutral amino acid, water, and an alcohol.
