Disclosed is an electronic device comprising: an ear connector into which an earphone plug is inserted; a first comparator which outputs a first output signal by comparing an input signal applied from a first terminal connected, via a first electrical path, to a detection terminal included in the ear connector, with a reference voltage which is based on a first predetermined condition and applied from a second terminal; a second comparator which outputs a second output signal by comparing an input signal applied from a third terminal connected to the detection terminal via a second electrical path branching off from one point on the first electrical path, with a reference voltage which is based on a second predetermined condition and applied from a fourth terminal; and a processor which is electrically connected to the first comparator and the second comparator, and determines the connection state with the earphone plug on the basis of the first output signal outputted from the first comparator and the second output signal outputted from the second comparator. Other various embodiments are possible as identified in the present document.
