Abstract:
The method for determining the state of an iron tip (5) pertaining to the present invention determines the state of an iron tip (5) by measuring a physical quantity of gas flowing through the inside of a gas supply unit (7), the total flow rate or the supply pressure of the gas flowing through the gas supply unit (7) being constant, and comparing the measured physical quantity and a table or a reference value provided in advance in a soldering apparatus (A) having: an iron tip (5) having a solder hole (51) through which a solder piece (Wh) is supplied, the iron tip (5) heating and melting the solder piece (Wh) in the solder hole (51); a gas supply source (GS) for supplying a gas; and a gas supply unit (7) for communicating the gas supply source (GS) and the solder hole (51), and supplying the gas from the gas supply source (GS) to the solder hole (51). The state of the iron tip (5) at all times can thereby be accurately determined.
