Abstract:
Provided in the present invention are a method and device for base station selection. The method comprises: a network element acquires channel quality information (S302), where the channel quality information is channel quality information between a master base station and one or more auxiliary base stations and user equipment, and the one or more auxiliary base stations are auxiliary base stations corresponding to the master base station; the network element acquires load information of the master base station and of the one or more auxiliary base stations (S304); and the network element selects a designated base station among the master base station and the one or more auxiliary base stations on the basis of the channel quality information and of the load information (S306), the designated base station being a base station for control signaling transmission with the user equipment. The present invention solves the problem in the prior art of how to ensure that control plane signaling is reliably received by a receiving end in a virtual cell, thus preventing the problems occasioned due to frequent switchover of master base stations, and reducing backhaul transmission overhead between base stations.
