Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and device for computing function approximation in floating point representation. According to one mode of the present invention, provided are a device, and a computer-executed method for computing function approximation in floating point representation, the method comprising: a first instruction execution step for generating a pre-processed input by replacing an exponent of an input with a preset value, and generating an offset according to the replacement of the exponent of the input; a second instruction execution step for obtaining an approximation result of a function for the pre-processed input; and a third instruction execution step for computing an approximation value of the function for the input by post-processing the approximation result by using the offset.
