Abstract:

Provided in the present application are a method and device for improving a fingerprint template and a terminal device. The method comprises: extracting, on the basis of a preset fingerprint feature type, first feature information of a fingerprint image entered; determining, on the basis of second feature information in a registered fingerprint template and corresponding to the fingerprint feature type, the degree at which the first feature information matches the second feature information; determining whether or not the degree of match is greater than or equal to a preset compensation threshold; if the degree of match is greater than or equal to the compensation threshold, then acquiring from the fingerprint image a compensatory image not intersecting the fingerprint template, and adding the compensatory image into the fingerprint template. This implements continuous improvement of an initially registered fingerprint template in a process of fingerprint recognitions, increases fingerprint recognition match rate, and increases the overall performance of a registration phase and a recognition phase in a fingerprint recognition system.
