Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR INPUTTING JAPANESE CHARACTERS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2009/131315
Kind Code:
A8
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and a device for inputting Japanese characters and comprises a consonant section and a vowel section. The consonant section consisting of 12 syllable groups is configured by allocating representative consonants and voiced consonants to keys. The vowel section is configured with 8 syllables that are composed of both 5 vowels in the syllable group “a” and 3 semivowels in the syllable group “ya”. Input elements for 8 syllables of each syllable group are set up by comprising 8 syllables with 3 semivowel sounds, “ya”, “yu”, “yo” in each syllable group of the consonant section and linking the 8 vowels of the vowel section to the 8 syllables of each syllable group of the consonant section in a one-to-one ratio. The method and the device for inputting 8 syllables in each syllable group are characterized by: a sequential input method wherein one syllable group is selected according to the input elements from the consonant section and one vowel of the vowel section is inputted; and an input method wherein a key of the vowel section is selected and one specific character corresponding to the key is inputted.
