Abstract:
In order to inspect hollow profiled elements, an excess pressure or negative pressure is generated therein, and in order to detect cracks and holes, the flow noise generated in the hollow profiled elements as a result of the difference in pressure to the environment is measured by means of acoustic sensors (10) that are disposed on a mobile inspection unit (7) and are connected to an evaluation and control unit (18) and a length meter (15). The acoustic measurement can be combined with an image-based inspection using a video camera (11), a measurement of the wall thickness by means of a wall thickness-measuring device (16) that is integrated into the inspection unit and uses ultrasound or magnetic waves, and a cleaning device (14) mounted on the inspection unit.
