Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a ceramic honeycomb filter in which sealing portions are formed in prescribed cells of a ceramic honeycomb structure, wherein using a device provided with a container having an upper opening and a feed port for a sealing material slurry, a porous plate having a large number of openings covering the upper opening of the container, and a holding member fixed to the upper end of the container: the lower surface of a sealing film affixed to the lower end surface of a ceramic honeycomb structure is held at a distance D of over 0 mm to 2.0 mm from the upper surface of the porous plate; a prescribed volume of the sealing material slurry is fed into the container and introduced into the prescribed cells of the ceramic honeycomb structure; the ceramic honeycomb structure is unsealed and then caused to rotate; and after the ceramic honeycomb structure starts to rotate, the ceramic honeycomb structure is raised.
