Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing glass members with a sealing material layer, whereby a sealing material layer can be satisfactorily formed even if an entire glass substrate cannot be heated. The sealing material layer is formed by scanning a laser beam (9) along a frame-shaped coating layer (8) of a sealing material paste on a glass substrate while irradiating the frame-shaped coating layer (8). The scanning speed of the laser beam (9) in a completion area from a position close to an irradiation completion position, at least a portion of which overlaps with the fired part of the frame-shaped coating layer (8), to an irradiation completion position is made to be slower than the scanning speed in a scanning area along the frame-shaped coating layer (8).
