Abstract:
Provided in the present application are a method and device for processing data packets, which are applied to a satellite communication system. The method comprises: dividing the earth surface, outer space and network space according to a constellation of satellites and the operating trajectory of the satellites, and assigning an identifier to each ground area, outer space area and network obtained by the division so as to establish a fixed mapping relationship between ground area identifiers EID, outer space area identifiers SID and network identifiers NID. At the same time, mapping relationship information provided with the mapping relationship is maintained and recorded on each satellite. In the event that there are no satellites that are added or that have retired from service among the constellation of satellites, the mapping relationship recorded by the mapping relationship information does not need to be updated. On the basis of the mapping relationship information, the satellite may route data packets, which reduces a large amount of signaling interaction caused by establishing and maintaining a routing table according to traditional means.
