Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for decoding a video signal on the basis of a reduced transform, the method comprising the steps of: checking whether a transform skip is applied to a current block; when the transform skip is not applied to the current block, acquiring a transform index indicating a transform kernel of the current block from the video signal; determining an area in which a primary transform is applied to the current block, on the basis of the transform kernel indicated by the transform index and the size of the current block; and with respect to the area in which the primary transform is applied, performing an inverse primary transform by using the transform kernel indicated by the transform index.
