Abstract:

Provided are a method and device for producing a glass plate and that are able to produce a high-quality glass plate even if the conveyance speed of a glass ribbon is increased. The position of the two ends in the widthwise direction of the glass ribbon (1) is detected by a position detector (130). The position adjustment unit (94) of an edge-breaking device (90) is controlled on the basis of the detected position information of both ends in the widthwise direction of the glass ribbon (1), and the position of an edge-breaking unit (92) for breaking off the edges (2B) of the glass plate (2) is altered to track the meandering and/or width variations of the glass ribbon (1).
