Abstract:
One aspect of the present invention provides a method, device, and program for searching medium composition and estimating cell characteristics, which can efficiently optimize culture results even for a cell of which characteristics are unknown. In a method according to one aspect of the present invention, a processor: predicts, with respect to a subject cell, culture results for a given medium composition by using the cell characteristics or an estimated value of the subject cell; acquires the culture results of the subject cell for a portion or the entirety of the given medium composition; estimates the cell characteristics of the subject cell by using the medium composition, and the acquired culture results or the predicted culture results; evaluates, from the acquired culture results, the necessity of further estimating the cell characteristics of the subject cell; and searches and determines, on the basis of the necessity and prediction, candidates of the medium composition for which the next culture results should be acquired. The processor repeats the prediction of the culture results, the acquisition of the culture results, the estimation of the cell characteristics, the evaluation of the necessity, and the search and determination of the candidates of the medium composition until a determined termination criterion is satisfied.
