A method, device (20, 500) and system for controlling a home appliance are disclosed. The method for controlling a home appliance comprises: acquiring a brainwave signal, the brainwave signal being formed by a user thinking of a desired operating state of a home appliance (30, 700) (210); performing signal processing on the acquired brainwave signal, to obtain a digital signal matching a preset communication mode (230); and sending the digital signal to a server (20, 600) according to the preset communication mode, to enable the home appliance (30, 700) to enter, according to a processing result of the digital signal by the server (20, 600), an operating state corresponding to the processing result (250). By using the method, a plurality of home appliances (30, 700) can be controlled, and excessive operational complexity of home appliance control can be avoided.
