Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and to a device for testing objects (24) to be tested (test objects) in the production and/or packaging of cigarettes, particularly of imprints and/or print substrates on or for cigarette packages or blanks for cigarette packages, wherein the at least one test object (24) is subjected to an optical test by means of a suitable light detector (31), particularly an optoelectronic test device such as a camera. The test object (24) and/or the test object background (11) is illuminated with light from a variable-wavelength lighting device (34), wherein the wavelength(s) of the light originating from the lighting device (34) is preferably automatically adjusted for improving the contrast between the test object (24) and the test object background (11), preferably depending on the packaging type (10) to be produced and/or depending on at least one characteristic of the test object (24) and/or depending on at least one characteristic of the test object background (11).
