Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TRANSMITTING DATA USING MOBILE DATA TRANSMISSION DEVICES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO1999025135
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The inventive system for transmitting data consists of mobile data transmission devices (A, B, C, D, E, F, G). Each of said devices is both a data emitting and data receiving unit. A data set is transmitted from a first initial data transmission device (A) to a second destination data transmission device (E) via the data transmission network, over a distance which is greater than the transmission range (R) of an individual data transmission device. At least one or several other data transmission devices (B, C, D, F, G) serve as intermediate carriers for the data set to be transmitted. Each of the data transmission devices (A, B, C, D, E, F, G) of the system can be an initial-, intermediate carrier- and/or destination-data transmission device for different data sets to be transmitted. A data set to be transmitted is passed on from a preceding data transmission device to the next data transmission device when said next data transmission device is located within the transmission range (R) of said preceding data transmission device.
