Abstract:

Disclosed is a method for transmitting a packet in a multimedia system, the method comprising the steps of: configuring a payload on the basis of a data unit, wherein the data unit is divided from at least one media processing unit for constituting media data; generating a packet including the payload and a payload header; and transmitting the packet to a receiving end, wherein if the payload is configured on the basis of a plurality of fragments in which the data unit is divided, the payload header includes division information related to the fragments included in the payload, and the division information related to the fragments included in the payload comprises: a fragment indicator indicating whether data included in the payload is a first fragment or is a last fragment among the plurality of fragments, or whether the data is the remainder of fragments excluding the first fragment and the last fragment among the plurality of fragments; and a value of a fragment counter indicating the number of packets having a payload including each fragment following the fragments included in the payload of the packet among the plurality of fragments.
