Abstract:
A control unit of this battery management device charges/discharges a battery with a constant current of a direct current for a prescribed time, and diagnoses the state of the battery. With respect to a change in increase of a value obtained by defining, as a square root of time, a time elapsed from the start of charging/discharging, a variation point is specified at which a voltage increase obtained by subtracting an open loop voltage of a battery from a measurement voltage of the battery is changed from a curved line shape to a straight line shape. A voltage increase from a voltage at the time when the charging/discharging starts to a voltage at the variation point is specified as a voltage increase caused by resistance components of electrolyte and a cathode and anode of the battery, and a voltage increase from the voltage at the variation point is specified as a voltage increase caused by a diffusion resistance component of the battery.
