Abstract:

Disclosed is a method for displaying a video stream on a display of a portable electronic device in a side-by-side (SBS) type. Video streams received by the electronic device are stored in a memory. Among the video streams stored in the memory, the same video stream packet, which has been designated to be displayed on a single display through conversion, is retrieved simultaneously and separately by first and second processes, respectively. The first and second processes decode the retrieved video stream packet, scale video frames, which have been generated by decoding, respectively, so as to be displayed in first and second display areas designated in left-half and right-half areas of the display, respectively, and transmit the same to a video driving unit. When execution of all tasks related to the same video stream packet, which has been designated by each of the first and second processes, has been completed, a video stream packet, which comes right next to the same designated video stream packet, is designated as a new video stream packet to be displayed on the display through conversion. When the same image is displayed in the SBS type, the same can be displayed with a time difference within a predetermined time range. When two displayed images are watched, a three-dimensional feeing resulting from a monocular vision effect and a three-dimensional feeding resulting from a display time difference can be perceived simultaneously.
