Abstract:
A method of dividing a ceramics cylindrical body and the shapes of the cutout parts of the cylindrical body. In the method, first and second cutout parts are formed in the inner peripheral surface of the ceramics cylindrical body at positions opposed to each other in the diameter direction, a compressive load is applied thereto in the diameter direction, and the cylindrical body is divided along the first and second cutout parts to provide such divided faces that their cross sections have a recess and a projection to prevent the divided faces from being displaced from each other in the axial direction in re-joining. Thus, the cylindrical body parts divided into two sections can be correctly fitted to each other without being displaced in the axial direction of the cylindrical body.
