Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for eliminating toxic organic substances, wherein said method comprises submitting these substances to combustion in the presence of concentrated processed black liquor. The liquor is obtained during the vaporisation stage of a regeneration process in the cellulose production and using an alkaline-product boiling method. The process is carried out in a recovery boiler unit at a temperature between 1100 and 1400 �C and for 3 to 30 seconds. The method of the present invention may be used to process toxic products in liquid or powder form and ensures full disintegration of the substances to be eliminated. The use of an alkaline reagent as the processed black liquor results in a lower consumption of products and raw materials during the elimination of said toxic substances.
