Abstract:

The embodiments of the present invention relate to a method for establishing a hotspot connection and a terminal device. The method comprises: a first terminal device sends a request message to a second terminal device, the request message being used for requesting the first terminal device to be used as a wireless local area network (WLAN) hotspot of the second terminal device; the first terminal device receives instruction information from the second terminal device, the instruction information being used for instructing the second terminal device to confirm that the first terminal device is used as the WLAN hotspot of the second terminal device; and the first terminal device as the WLAN hotspot of the second terminal device establishes a communication connection with the second terminal device. The method and the terminal device for establishing the hotspot connection provided in the embodiments of the present invention simplify steps for the hotspot connection, improve the efficiency of establishing the hotspot connection, and the problem that the WLAN hotspot of a periphery terminal device cannot be connected by means of a hotspot receiver device having no large display screen and keyboard can be solved, thus the user experience is improved.
