Abstract:
Provided are: methods for evaluating and predicting cracking, due to bending, in an end face of a sheared base plate; and a technology that should be reflected in a method for designing press dies. The present invention is a method for evaluating the deformation limit, wherein the deformation limit in a sheared surface (10A) of a sheared metal plate (1), at the time when the metal plate (1) is pressed, is evaluated. On the basis of an index value, the deformation limit in the sheared surface (10A) is evaluated, and cracks in the sheared surface (10A) are predicted, the index value being calculated from, among the distributions of strain produced near the boundary of a bending outside surface and the sheared surface (10A) of the metal plate (1) to be bent, two gradients of the surface strain distribution, which are: the gradient of the surface strain distribution in a thickness direction X in the sheared surface (10A) at the evaluation position; and the gradient of the surface strain distribution in a direction Y of a bending ridge line extending in a direction away from the sheared surface (10A) and formed by bending.
