Abstract:

Provided is a method for exchanging a time synchronisation message. The method comprises: a network device exchanging a clock synchronisation message with a first clock source, wherein the network device comprises a boundary clock; the network device determining, according to the clock synchronisation message exchanged with the first clock source, a first time deviation, with respect to the first clock source, of the boundary clock, and the boundary clock preventing execution of an operation of correcting, according to the first time deviation, a time of a local clock in the boundary clock; and the network device sending, to a first slave clock of the boundary clock, the clock synchronisation message, wherein the clock synchronisation message sent by the network device to the first slave clock includes a first time stamp generated by the boundary clock, a value of the first time stamp is equal to a first modification value, and the modification value is a value obtained by means of the boundary clock using the first time deviation to modify the time of the local clock. Moreover, further provided are other methods and a network device. The solution facilitates extension of an application scene of the network device.
